Probably we all have the habit to learn things the hard way. We don’t care for others’ advice as long as we don’t face problems personally.
And I also believe, none can teach you anything unless you open up your mind.
Today I want to share with you three life-hacks to manage stress and work schedule effectively.
Disclaimer: Those
techniques work for me though, you can give them a try!
And don’t try ‘MY TECHNIQUES’ unless
you can relate those ‘WITH YOUR LIFE.’
First of all, face it! Stress and depression are
real. You can’t expect a stress-free career unless you decide to do nothing in
your life. On the other way, if you find your work stressful, probably you are
doing something meaningful in your career.
However, we can tactfully play it cool to turn
our stress into positive energy if we have our very own stress management techniques. Before
concluding the solutions, I want to share my personal notion about
‘So-called-stress-management-hacks’ bullshits that don’t work for me.
1. Talk to someone: As an introvert, it is quite difficult to reduce stress from
a human’s company.
2. Get more peaceful sleep: If I could sleep peacefully, I wouldn’t be stressed out in
the first place!
3. Manage your time: You will come across this vague advice several times in your
life. I think, no one can teach you time management unless you are
self-educated in this skill.
4. Try mindfulness: Well, I am not so sure about that. But mindfulness
techniques (Like free your mind from any negative thoughts/ focus on your
surroundings) require a certain amount of time investment and practice – which
can’t be considered as an instant stress management solution.
5. Eat healthy, exercise: Well, those qualities are incorporated with your lifestyle.
Frankly speaking, a healthy lifestyle can help you to get your shits together,
but again, this is not instant relief.
If you are still with me, and you can relate to ‘Those stress management ninja techniques don’t work for you either,’ let me
share three instant stress relief techniques that you can try out!
1. Write Down Your Tasks
Write it down. Write it down with a color pen.
Write on sticky notes. Write on a whiteboard – Wherever or Whatever you want to
– just write it down!
Jot down whatever is in your mind before getting things done |
Versed Blogger’s Tips: If you are good at drawing or feel like you should sketch,
try to draw or doodle your problems. Sketching out helps to relieve stress.
2. Get a Small Work Done ASAP
Imagine you are working with a term paper or
trying to make a business presentation for your next weekly meeting. Try to
write down the introduction or make the first slide as soon as possible – no
matter how the quality or quantity has been. It’s always good to have a quick
start to your work to get things done.
Get the first step done as soon as possible |
Versed Blogger’s Tips: I would highly recommend the amazing book ‘The 5 Second Rule' by Mel Robbins. This book has encouraged
me to initiate any task without putting so many thoughts wondering, ‘How can I
start working, I have a bunch-load of works to do!’
3. Take a Deep Breath
Well, sorry to disappoint you with the cliché,
but it really works! The problem is, we never try this out precisely as it
should be. Whenever you are stressed out – just follow the steps:
Close your eyes> Take a deep breath for 10 seconds> Exhale your lung air for another ten seconds> Remember, nothing matters!
Take a deep breath to exhale your stress |
